Fair Park Celebrates 100 Years |
April 5, 1904: Dallas voters approve purchase of the grounds from the TexasState Fair for $125,000 making the property the second park in the city’s park system. In 1906, landscape architect George Kessler of St. Louis is hired to design a masterplan for developing the property now commonly referred to as Fair Park. Five yearslater Kessler produces a plan for Dallas that will influence the growth of the city for thenext 80 years. Fair Park Celebrates 100 Years! |
